Happy Valentine’s Day bakers! This week for Teatime I’ll be sharing my Valentine’s recipe round up, featuring recipes from some of my favourite baking bloggers as well as well as a few of my own for good measure. Skip the expensive dinner out for some homemade indulgence instead!
The first recipe I want to share with you is a homemade classic that you will all recognise from the biscuit cupboard, with a twist!. These Jammy Dodger Cupcakes by the wonderful Jane’s Patisserie are a cute take on the vanilla and jam biscuit – they won’t fail to capture a few hearts (and tummies!) this February 14th.
If the idea of a simple but sweet biscuit is working for you, then you might like to try these Cherry Bakewell Shortbread Hearts which appeared on my blog earlier this month. Buttery with just the right crumbly crunch, these biscuits are the ultimate option for simple indulgence, as the almond and cherry flavours really take them up a level!
If Valentine’s dessert is what you’re looking for, then these Sophisticated Strawberry Brownies will hit the spot. Double chocolate meets the intense flavour of dark muscovado sugar to create a brownie that is gooey and sophisticated in equal measures. The fresh strawberry frosting adds a splash of pink. Complete your Valentine’s dessert by serving it warm with clotted cream.
For a more laid back treat, these Pink Party Donuts by Sally’s Baking Addiction are great fun. I am a firm believer that you can never be too old for sprinkles, so these tick all the boxes for me.
However you are spending this Valentine’s Day, I wish you happiness and cake in abundance. See you on Tuesday when I’ll be sharing an irresistible new cupcake recipe!
