Chocolate bark is so simple and so satisfying to make. With just two ingredients, you can whip this chocolate popcorn bark up in less than ten minutes plus chilling time to snack on all week long. As for the flavour combination…
My love affair with chocolate popcorn began when my mum brought me a Milka bar back from her holiday a few years ago. Since then, struggling to find that in the UK, I’ve tried Cadbury’s chocolate popcorn too which is also yummy. Perhaps the best time was at my last school summer fete, when I had melted chocolate poured all over popcorn, so good! So you can see I’m a little obsessed with it and as a result here is this new chocolate popcorn bark recipe!
300g milk chocolate, broken into pieces and melted
Approx 50g toffee popcorn, salted would also work if you like the mix of sweet/salty
Break up the chocolate into pieces and melt in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of boiling water. Feel free to use dark or white chocolate as you prefer, but for me I think milk works best.
Once melted, pour the chocolate into the tray and spread to a roughly equal thickness. Throw in the popcorn, pressing lightly on the bigger pieces so they sink into the chocolate. I put a combination of whole popcorn, some cut in half, and the ground up bits from the bottom of the packet scattered on top into my chocolate bark.
Pop the tray into the fridge to set. This will depend upon how thick your chocolate is but it will usually take at least one hour.
Break into pieces and snack away on your homemade chocolate bark!
