About Me - Knead to Dough

About Me

I’m Lauren and I launched Knead to Dough in 2015 as a baking blog before rapidly growing it into a community for baking bloggers and cake biz owners.

If you love cake, content and developing your social media skills, then you’ll feel right at home here. Grab a cup of coffee and take your first bite of blogging, social media and cake baking advice – with a few delicious recipes thrown in, too!

If it’s your first time here, I recommend starting with a post like 5 Things All Bloggers Should Be Doing on Twitter for actionable advice whatever your previous blogging experience. Have a taste of this Terry’s Chocolate Orange Brownies recipe with it (mmm).

I first started Knead to Dough as a way of holding myself accountable to developing my bread baking skills. Boy, did it take off from there! I couldn’t quite contain myself to bread recipes and soon had a recipe book’s-worth of bakes posted and a lot of blogging strategy and research behind me, which I began to share.

At Knead to Dough you'll find in-depth, step-by-step blog posts that show you how to use blogging and social media effectively to market your cake blog or business, helping you to reach more potential customers. All finished with a good sprinkle of recipe inspiration, of course.

Happy member of the Devon Bloggers Network!

Here's what Melissa, owner of Pipedream Celebrations, has to say:

"I'd just like to thank Lauren for offering valuable business feedback and genuine help in ways to help move my cake blog Pipedream Celebrations in the right direction. I really appreciate your time and thoughts, thanks again."

I’ve been baking consistently for 5+ years now. As President of my University Bake Society, I learned the ins-and-outs of cake stalls, running cake classes (baking + decorating), and organising larger events for bakers - so I know what cake sells.

Combine that with a degree in English Literature and a job in Magazine Journalism, and you have a baker who has a way with words AND cake. I love to create content as much as I love to bake, whether it’s for new blog posts, social media, or email newsletters. My apron and pen go hand in hand as I create content for bakers to help them achieve their blog and biz goals (as well as their culinary ones!)

Great blog concept will be following your journey. I also had an amazing baking journey from learning as a kid from my mum & grandma, starting my career as a food designer working for a very well known biscuit company in the UK, and now working freelance and a food blogger on taste2taste.com. I look forward to exchanging recipes!

    Hi Lauren
I hope you don’t mind, but I was recently nominated for a Liebster Award for my new blog and as part of the tradition of passing the award on to promote other bloggers who have sites that you like and enjoy, I have now nominated Knead to Dough. You can see my acceptance post (which includes a link to your site in the nominations section) at http://bakemecrazy66.com – this includes some info about the award itself and what to do, should you wish to accept your nomination from me. I’ll leave it with you to decide if you’d like to take your nomination any further or not, but as a fellow baker, albeit one who is very, very new to blogging, I chose you, because I think you have a beautiful, well laid out blog and I love the story behind it. I can definitely identify with what you’re doing. I wish you every success on your baking journey (not that you need it – your photos are great!) and I look forward to spending more time on your blog in the future.
    Kind regards
